During the Milano Design Week, the Teatro dell’Arte at the Triennale hosted a ‘theatrical dinner’ conceived by Abet Laminati together with Paola Navone, creating a moment of conviviality to highlight the unique qualities of their new laminate surface, Polaris. The idea of the dinner was conceived in order to celebrate design in one of its most important and prestigious locations, in the year that sees the opening of the XXI Triennale International Exhibition. During this unusual evening, guests participated in a culinary performance staged by the experts from Bra, a small district in the province of Cuneo where Abet Laminati has its headquarters and that is famed throughout the world since the birth of Slow Food at the end of the 1980s, followed by the founding of the Università degli Studi di Scienze Gastronomiche in nearby Pollenzo along with the Banca del Vino and the Albergo dell’Agenzia with its restaurant, Garden. The Teatro dell’Arte at the Triennale thus became the stage on which to promote this encounter between two important realities that represent the best of Italian production in the fields of technology, food and drink. The guests found themselves enjoying a unique experience, a moment of conviviality half-way between dance and theatre. The menu was created for the occasion by chefs Pierpaolo Livorno and Giuseppe Barbero and served directly on tables made especially for the evening with tops in Polaris, a heat and scratch-resistant laminate and anti-fingerprint. Just like a perfectly synchronised dance, the waiters served the first course directly onto the surface, before the surprised eyes of the guests. At the end of the first course, the waiters came up to the tables and delicately lifted the table-top in Polaris from its structure and passing before the astonished diners, transported it behind the scenes. At this point, another group of perfectly choreographed waiters arrived with a new top on which the second course was served. This was then repeated for the dessert and coffee. The evening was introduced with a short monologue by Alberto Capatti, gastronome and first head of the Università degli Studi di Scienze Gastronomiche in Pollenzo who then handed over to actor Daniele Lucca who described the dinner while passing among the tables. Polaris is a revolutionary, high-performance, state-of-the-art laminate that can respond to the requests of the most curious and demanding designers who are always in search of  innovative materials. The intriguing combination of a durable/velvety finish makes Polaris a surface with a futuristic appeal, perfect for ultra-contemporary projects that delights the senses with a pleasing and unique effect. Polaris comes in ten colours, characterised by five cool tones, from intense black to ice white and five warm tones with shades of sand, pearl and soft-grey that gradually blend and darken.
